Job Title Light Vehicle mechanic apprentice Industry Motor Repairs Job Description The busines is predominantly a mobile mechanic business with some work based at the workshop. The following will be the duties the apprentice will learn under the supervision of a qualified mechanic over a period of 4 years • Examining motor engines and their pairs • Diagnosing potential faults in engines and their parts • Repairing and replacing worn and damaged parts, referring to manuals as required • Using technical equipment including computer software to test the function of engines and their parts • Performing scheduled maintenance on vehicles including oil changes, engine tune ups and more to ensure they run smoothly • Testing and fixing faults with electrical systems in vehicles such as lights, ignition and more • Purchasing and collecting parts and organising parts and oils for the next day jobs. • Other duties as advised by the supervisor due to the nature of the business.
